Structural
We can correct structural issues in the majority of building in the area. We have extensive experience repairing turn of the century homes which are built in a entirly different way than modern homes. We do not have a set method of repairing these homes due the differences in construction techniques of the time. Some of the issues we have found in the past which we can correct are:
1.Rotten floor joists along the outside of the home. In older homes they would often set floor joists into a brick foundation instead of on top of the foundation like what is common in modern houses. This leads to the wood joist wicking water from the masonry and eventually, (after 100 years) rotting the joist. It is a fairly common problem in older homes and we have several ways of correcting this.
2. Failing brick foundations. Brick foundations
